Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy Services
ABA therapy is a scientifically proven approach to understanding and changing behavior. It’s widely recognized as the gold standard treatment for autism spectrum disorder and has been endorsed by the US Surgeon General and numerous studies.
ABA therapy works by using various techniques and flexibility to understand and change behavior.
What is ABA Therapy? What Does it Do?
ABA therapy uses positive reinforcement to teach new skills and reduce negative behaviors. Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Register Behavior Technicians (RBTS) will work together to provide high-quality care that breaks complex tasks into smaller, manageable steps and consistently rewards progress. This approach is highly adaptable and can be applied in different settings, from the classroom to home life.
ABA focuses on improving a variety of skills, including verbal and non-verbal communication, enhancing interactions with peers and adults, and teaching independence in daily living activities. ABA also supports learning in school settings and reduces challenging behaviors by teaching appropriate alternatives. ABA techniques can increase positive behaviors while decreasing those that interfere with learning and social situations. The therapy is personalized to each child’s ability level and individual goals.
Why is ABA Therapy the Most Effective Treatment?
With hundreds of peer-reviewed studies over the last half-century, research shows that ABA therapy consistently improves autism outcomes. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) assess children’s needs and create individualized treatment plans using effective and developmentally appropriate strategies. Combined with early intervention, it provides some of the highest success rates. ABA therapy requires time and family involvement, and our team supports family members in practicing therapy skills and targeting behaviors in a supportive environment.
Our Charlotte, NC, location offers ABA therapy services to families in the region. This is currently our only location providing psychological evaluations for autism.
